Lungu woos, assures Germany investors

President Edgar Lungu has assured prospective Germany investors that the security of their investments in the Country is guaranteed.

President Lungu says while Zambia remains a stable Country, it is also looking for fast economic growth.

He has urged the Germany business community not be restricted by the already existing businesses in Zambia as the Country still has the potential for new businesses to emerge.

President Lungu was speaking this afternoon when visiting Germany Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier with his delegation mostly comprising of the business community called on him at State House.

President Lungu says Zambia is fortunate to have a delegation of the Germany business community visiting especially at a time when the Country’s economy is faced with many challenges.

He has cited the energy sector crisis as one of the challenges that has had a negative impact on Zambia’s economic growth.

Earlier President Lungu held a closed door meeting with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The officials included IMF country representative Tobias Nybo Rasmussen and IMF Division Chief for the African Department Tsidi Tsikata.
