Chipata civil rights activist Alick Mwanza has commended the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for listening to calls by stakeholders to extend the mobile voter registration exercise.
Mr. Mwanza says the extension of the mobile voter registration exercise will enable as many people as possible to be captured in order to avoid a repeat of the voter apathy recorded in the January presidential election.
He has however, urged the ECZ to ensure that all stakeholders are involved in selecting which registration centers will be conducting the mobile voter registration during the period of the extension to ensure that there is no biasness in the selection.
He has also urged Zambians to use the opportunity wisely and not to wait until the exercise is almost coming to a close for them to begin trekking to registration centers in numbers.
Mr. Mwanza further states that it is everyone’s right to vote thus people should exercise their right by registering as voters.
