ZCSD wants office of DC scrapped off

The Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD) has called on President Lungu to scrap off the positions of District Commissioner saying there are not serving any purpose.

ZCSD Executive Director Lewis Mwape says the positions of the District Commissioner have been awarded to those that have helped the party win elections and that the District Secretary can serve in such positions for the country to save some money.

Mr. Mwape says the Head of State must be above bold and be brave to remove the office of the DC as it is not serving any purpose at all.

He says a lot of money can be saved if this office is completely scraped off saying the country needs to start saving now.
