MPS urged not temper with constitution Bill

Parliamentarians have been urged not to temper with the people’s aspirations contained in the constitutional amendment bill which is before Parliament.

Young African Leaders Initiative President Andrew Nthewewe says the Zambia people have already spoken and that parliamentarians must respect their wishes.

He says Members of Parliament as people’s representatives should adopt the amendments without tempering with what the people endorsed.

Mr. Nthewewe says the failure to give the Zambian people a constitution they want will force them to use the issue as a weapon in the 2016 elections.

Mr. Ntewewe has since urged President Edgar Lungu to leave a lasting legacy by giving the Zambian people a progressive constitution.
