Millers Association of Zambia has welcomed government’s decision to offload maize on the market owing the limited supply of the grain.
Association President Allan Sakala has disclosed to Qfm News by telephone it was in fact the millers’ request that government offloads maize on the market.
Mr. Sakala says the idea is to ensure that the price of mealie meal is stabilized in the Country.
He adds that millers still expect to make profits despite the fact that they will not be allowed to export mealie meal from the maize they will receive from the Food Reserve Agency.
