File President Edgar Lungu shares a light moment with Matero MP Miles Sampa

Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa says there is no reason for him to resign from the ruling Patriotic Front which he suffered for for 10-years.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka this afternoon flanked by PF Secretary General Davies Chama, Mr. Sampa says he sees no need to ditch the ruling party when the party is in government.

He has since stated that he remains a member of the Patriotic Front and party’s Central Committee.

Mr. Sampa says he not the first PF member to quit his deputy ministerial position, stating that his move to quit is aimed at organizing the party ahead of the 2016 general election.

And Mr. Sampa has endorsed the candidature of President Edgar Lungu for next year’s elections stating that no one should frustrate the President.

He says he has had no problems with President Lungu pledging to continue rallying behind him because of the respect he has for him.

And PF Secretary General Davies Mwila says after having a conversation with the Matero lawmaker he saw it fit to call for a press briefing so that the nation understands that there are no perceived divisions in the ruling party.

Mr.Chama says it is his duty to ensure that the ruling party is united and organized in order to remain in office beyond 2016.
