Israel-based striker Evans Kangwa is expected to join the Zambia camp in Ndola on Thursday ahead of Sunday’s 2018 World Cup final leg qualifier against Sudan.

Kangwa missed Zambia’s second round, first leg away clash against Sudan on November 11 due to logistical reasons.

“Evans will land in Ndola on Thursday afternoon after flying from Israel on Ethiopian Airlines and will fly directly to Ndola,” an official source close to the player said.

This will be Kangwa’s first match back after missing Zambia’s opening 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifying match at home against Guinea Bissau in June due to a groin injury he sustained during training in Ndola in the build-up to that fixture.

However, Kangwa will have to wait for 24 hours at the Ndola camp for his teammates to arrive back home from Khartoum on Friday just 48 hours after they beat Sudan 1-0 away in Karima in a second round, first leg qualifying tie.

Kangwa’s availability is a big boost for coach George Lwandamina’s attacking options following news that winger Chisamba Lungu of Russian club FK Ural may not travel home for the match.

Zambia will host Sudan at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola in a final leg fixture in a match they need a draw to go through to the final group qualifying stage next year.
