ZACA happy Kasama solar milling plant is now functional

The Zambia Consumers Association is happy that the solar milling plant in Kasama under the Zambia Cooperatives Federation (ZCF) has started producing mealie meal at a low price of K45.00 per 50kg bag.

ZACA Information and publicity secretary Juba Sakala says it is hoped that ZCF will spread its wings quickly to all provincial centers or appoint agents so that many consumers can have access to cheaper mealie meal.

He says the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) should give ZCF enough maize at a reasonable price.

Mr Sakala says this will in turn lower the price of mealie meal which has become unaffordable for most consumers.

Meanwhile ZACA has welcomed the partnership between STARSAT and StarTimes Group of China to provide affordable digital television services for Zambians Consumers.

Mr Sakala says the move will give Zambian Consumers a wide choice.

He adds that this will stimulate the Pay television market to even greater levels of informative, educational, and entertaining programming.
He states that Consumers in Zambia have been subjected to monopoly of Pay television by players for the past years.
