Fuel situation in Solwezi, Nakonde has normalized – ERB

The Energy Regulation Board has assured motorists that the fuel situation in Solwezi and Nakonde districts has normalized after reported shortages with all filling stations in the two districts have sufficient stocks.

ERB Public Relations Manager Kwali Mfuni says a survey conducted in Solwezi today revealed that the situation has normalized and all four filling stations have fuel with some sites expecting more supplies which are already in transit from Ndola.

Ms.Mfuni says the shortage of fuel in Solwezi was caused by technical faults at two filling stations which put pressure on the remaining sites.

She states that the fuel shortage experienced in Nakonde was triggered by high demand from neighboring Tanzania in the wake of recent elections held in that country.

Ms.Mfuni adds that at national level, daily stocks updates indicate that there is adequate fuel in the country.
