Mufulira Wanderers midfielder Jacob Ngulube has dedicated Thursday’s home win over Nchanga Rangers to their fans.

Wanderers beat struggling Nchanga Rangers 2-0 at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira to end a three-match win-less streak at home.

The nine-time champions had prior to Thursday’s win drawn one and lost two games at Shinde since beating 3rd placed Power Dynamos 1-0 there on August 22.

“This game was very important for us. It has been a while since we won at Shinde so we dedicate this win to our fans,” Ngulube said.

“We really appreciate the support they have given us from the first whistle.”

Ngulube also scored the opening goal of the match from a trademark free-kick in the 56th minute to record his second goal of the season.

“It was a wonderful free-kick and I thank God that I have scored because of late I wasn’t doing well with free kicks,” Ngulube said.

The win lifts Wanderers from 7th to 5th place on 45 points from 28 matches played in what is turning out to be an eventful first season back in the FAZ Super League since 2005.

Wanderers are on the road this Sunday to play their penultimate league match of the season when they visit old foes Nkana in a Copperbelt derby at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
