Tayali pleads with President Lungu to fire Musenge

The Zambian Voice has pleaded with President Edgar Lungu to act now and fire Copperbelt Minister Mwenya Musenge.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says MTayali Chilufyar. Musenge’s reaction to the allegations against China Copper Mines is questionable.

He says it is clear that he is covering up something which can only be between him and CCM other than the government he represents.

Mr. Tayali notes that Mr. Musenge has also brought in other people including the president thereby indirectly implicating the Head of State and as a result bringing the presidency into ridicule.

He adds that the Zambian Voice has information that while Mr. Musenge is accusing others; he is the one who has allegedly been trying to open various doors for his seemingly close associates.

Mr. Tayali has appealed to President Lungu to consider the cries of the people who are not there when ministers cut deals with some of the investors because the effect is felt by the ordinary Zambians in various ways.

He stresses that Mr. Musenge is not fit to be a minister after all that is happening especially that he has shown that he is not serving the interest of the people he was appointed to represent.

And Mr. Tayali says he is happy with the positive action from Mines Minister Christopher Yaluma who is now trying to correct things.
He has since urged Mr Yaluma to be above board in his dealings.
