Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda has assured farmers that none of them will be owed money for maize supplied to the Food Reserve Agency going into 2016.

Mr. Lubinda has told QFM News that Government is to this effect mobilizing funds to pay off the balance of K315 million it owes farmers.

Mr. Lubinda is optimistic that by the end of this week, the K315 million owed to farmers will be released by the treasury.

He says he is determined to ensure that by end of November, all farmers would have been paid their monies.

Mr Lubinda notes that so far things are moving very well pertaining to the payment of farmers as the ministry of Finance is releasing funds in a timely manner.

He states that farmers are receiving their payment two to three weeks after delivering their maize to the Food Reserve Agency.
