Charles Milupi

ADD President Charles Milupi states that his party has taken note that currently the Mining industry is distressed with so many challenges.

Mr. Milupi has cited uncertainty in taxation, high costs of operations resulting from high electricity tariffs, uncertainty in operations due to excessive ZESCO load shedding and the collapsed copper price as the challenges that the Mining industry is presently distressed by.

He has told Qfm News by telephone that all these challenges entails that had government recognized that the Mining industry is a key sector it could have put in place measures to support the industry.

Mr. Milupi says he has not seen for instance government coming up with measures that satisfy him that it is seriously addressing some of these challenges.

He is of the view that addressing some of the said challenges should be the starting point that will indicate that government’s realization that the Mining industry is in fact the key sector to the Zambian economy.
