Libongani urges commitment to duty as Zambia reaches 51

Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani has urged all police officers in the Country to remain committed to duty as Zambia commemorates its 51st Independence anniversary.

Ms. Libongani has also called upon members of the public to avoid any incidences of provocation that may lead to violence during the Independence holiday.

She has warned that the Police will not tolerate any incidence of violence or any conduct likely to cause confusion or discontent to members of the public who will be celebrating the event.

Ms. Libongani states that political parties or any individual political party members are hereby forbid from carrying any poster or placard at venues where Independence celebrations will be taking place.

She says the Police have put in place stringent measures to see to it that peace and tranquility prevails throughout the country during these celebrations.

Ms. Libongani has assured the nation that enough man power has been deployed at places of celebrations and that anyone found wanting will be arrested and prosecuted.
