The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) has called on politicians in the country to genuinely reconcile for the sake of continued peace and unity in the country.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando notes that politicians failed to utilize the Sunday’s national day of prayer and fasting to reconcile with each other for the betterment of the nation.

Mr. Chilando says people were looking forward to politicians using the day to reconcile and settle their differences for a healthy political environment in Zambia.

He says there is an urgent need for politicians to reconcile as most Zambians want to see healthy political environment prevailing in the country.

Mr Chilando states that President Lungu therefore has a task ahead of him of spearheading political dialogue in order to iron out political differences.

Mr. Chilando says the day was another missed opportunity for politicians to reconcile but that it is not too late for them to come together before the 2016 elections.
