Operations Young Vote has encouraged Zambians to realize the importance of registering as a voter and taking part in voting.

Speaking during the launch of a sensitization campaign dubbed Lembetsani Ma Voti Be on Point, simply meaning register as a voter, in Lusaka’s Matero Township today, OYV Executive Director Guess Nyirenda says those who will fail to register as voters will miss the opportunity to take part in voting in the 2016 General Election.

Mr. Nyirenda says Lembetsani Ma Voti Be on Point is a replicable countrywide participatory campaign tool to engage and educate frequent voters, those who have never voted before, and candidates.

Mr. Nyirenda says the campaign is aiming at mobilizing people aged 18 and above to participate in the ongoing Mobile voter registration exercise.

And National Democratic Institute Country Director, Taona Mwanyisa has urged Zambians to not lose their voice by ensuring that they register to vote.

Mr. Mwanyisa says the Lembetsani Ma Voti Be on Point is timely because it will ensure that the young people who are the majority in the country move with time and determine the direction Zambia takes.

And 19 year old Susan Banda has encouraged young people in the country to register as voters so that they participate in choosing leaders of their choice.
