Former Finance Minister Katele Kalumba is confident Zambia will be able to sail through the current economic turbulent in 2016.
Dr. Kalumba says his confidence is based on how the country was able to overcome similar economic challenges between 2000 and 2008.
He has told Qfm News that the country will however; require a collective great sense of purpose to overcome the current economic challenges.
Dr. Kalumba says this will entail all sectors of the economy putting Zambia’s interest at heart.
He states that players in the Agriculture, Mining and Manufacturing sectors as well as small scale enterprises need to work together to enable the country overcome the economic challenges.
Dr. Kalumba adds that the impact of the 2016 national budget will depend on how efficient government will be in raising revenue and spending it.
