Buffon injury not serious

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is expected to be available for Wednesday’s Champions League fixture at home to Borussia Monchengladbach after declining to have a scan on his injured calf.

Buffon had ben expected to undergo tests on Monday after suffering the injury during Juve’s scoreless draw away to Inter Milan on Sunday.

But reports said the Italy ‘keeper would not have a scan after he turned up for training at Juve’s Vinovo training complex outside Turin.

Juve host Monchengladbach looking to make it three Champions League wins out of three after defeating Manchester City and Sevilla earlier in the competition.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men, however, still have ground to make up in Serie A after a dismal start to the season.

Juve sit in 14th place, four points above the relegation zone and nine behind leaders Fiorentina.
