Zambians are praying and fasting

Zambians from different walks of life are today expected to gather in various places to observe the national day of prayer and fasting that was called by President Edgar Lungu.

President Lungu and the first family are also expected to be among thousands of Zambians who will be fasting and praying at the Show grounds in Lusaka.

President Lungu declared today, October 18, 2015 a day of repentance, fasting and prayer in response to the overwhelming requests that ordinary citizens and clergy from all denominations had made.

Meanwhile, Independent Churches in Zambia (ICOZ) Board Chairperson Bishop David Masupa has encouraged Zambians to observe a fasting as they pray for God’s interventions in various aspects of life.

Bishop Masupa says there is need for Zambians to come in large numbers and join hands in praying for the nation.

He says there is nothing sinister of wrong in Zambians coming together in such a fashion and ask God to intervene in certain issues affecting the nation.

And PF Lusaka Province Youth Secretary Stanley Chumya has encouraged youths in the country not to shun today’s national day of prayer and fasting saying they too need to be part of this important day.
