AWEP welcomes idea of women bank

The African Women Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) is happy with the move by the government to come up with a bank for women.
AWEP Zambia Charter Chairperson Sylvia Banda says the move is a step in the right direction.

Mrs. Banda says the move will go a long way in empowering women so that they in turn can contribute meaningfully to the economic development of the country.

She however, states that it is hoped that women will have easy access to finance and be able to save their money in the bank without being charged interests.

Mrs. Banda says the bank should have flexible conditions so that women can feel the benefit of having their own bank.
