ZCF praises govt’s concern for farmers

The Zambia Cooperative Federation (ZCF) has praised government for paying attention to issues affecting farmers in the country.

ZCF Director General James Chirwa says the implementation of the Electronic Voucher system is one aspect that will motivate farmers across the country to be more productive.

Mr. Chirwa notes that in the past, there have been so many cases of mismanagement of the Farmers Input Support Programme (FISP) with some inputs going missing coupled with the late delivery of the inputs.

He states that this will now be a thing of the past.

He says the introduction of the e-voucher system will also see an accelerated private sector participation in input distribution which will in turn benefit both farmers and the private sector.

Mr. Chirwa adds that the inputs will not find themselves in wrong hands as the case has been in the past.
