CSPR optimistic poverty can still be reduced amidst economic crisis

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) remains optimistic the country can still reduce the high poverty levels amidst the current economic challenges.

CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano has encouraged government not to relent but continue formulating policies aimed at addressing the high poverty levels in the country.

Mr. Nshindano says what is key is to focus on key sectors that can help reduce the levels of poverty in the country.

He has cited agriculture, tourism and manufacturing among others as some of the key sectors that can help uplift the living standards of the people.

Mr Nshindano notes that the country still has the capacity to deal with the challenge of high poverty levels provided government comes up with key policies in sectors that have the potential to help uplift the living standards of the people.
