Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile has discharged Special Assistant to the President for Political Affairs Kaizer Zulu in the case he was charged with failure to take precaution against injury relating to a shooting incident at Chrismar Hotel.

This follows the decision by the State to enter a nolle prosequi in the matter.

When the matter came up this morning, State prosecutor Geoffrey Munakeka told the Court that the Director of Public Prosecutions has given instruction to discontinue the case against Mr. Zulu.

Mr. Zulu, whose other charge of Threatening Violence was withdrawn last week by the principal state witness Enock Junior Kavindele, held back from commenting on the court ruling.

The presidential aide was arrested on 25th September and charged with threatening violence after he discharged his firearm following a bar altercation with Enoch Kavindele Junior.
