Government has pledged to continue supporting women’s organizations in a bid to improve entrepreneurship skills and reduce poverty.

Vice President Inonge Wina has since urged financial institutions in the country to consider funding women entrepreneurs in order to reduce unemployment in the country.

She notes that when women are empowered the whole nation benefits.

Ms. Wina says it is for this reason that organizations such as the WECREATE Zambia should enhance the involvement of more women entrepreneurs because women have been identified to be vulnerable members of society.

Speaking when she met officials from WECREATE Zambia at her office today, Ms. Wina says government is ready to engage other partners in supporting entrepreneurs more especially the women.

She has since commended WECREATE Zambia for addressing issues of gender equality and equity saying this has been a missing link in government projects.

Ms Wina further explained that President Edgar Lungu has continued with the infrastructure development programmes, women empowerment and industrialization programs aimed at uplifting the lives of all citizens.

And Startup Camp of America Chief Executive Officer, Sean Griffin says WECREATE Zambia will continue to give Zambian women access to entrepreneurship resources and continue to engage further with the Zambian Government and the people to help drive the country’s economic development.

Mr. Griffin stated that when women entrepreneurs succeed; they drive economic growth and invest more into their families and communities.
