Zimba expects 2016 budget and economic crisis will align

Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia, President, Suzyo Zimba says he expects to the 2016 National Budget to be aligned to the current economic situation in the country.

Mr. Zimba says he is also expecting to see a reduction in public expenditure in the 2016 National Budget.

He says the 2016 Budget should mainly focus on revenue collection considering that the country has a huge debt obligation to service, thus the need to reduce on public expenditure.

Mr Zimba says the government on the other hand should not use the 2016 budget as a political tool for campaigns, but rather reflect their commitment in uplifting the lives of the people of Zambia.

He therefore hopes that a huge chunk of the budget will be allocated to the Agriculture sector as one way of diversifying the country’s economy.
