Economic crisis good lesson for Zambia to diversify – Malambo

Governance Activist Maurice Malambo says Zambia has learnt lessons from the current economic hardships on the importance of diversifying the country’s economy.

Mr. Malambo says there is no doubt now that the country is paying for failing to diversify the economy saying the country had a chance of doing so.

Mr. Malambo has however castigated former senior government officials who are putting the blame on the current government that they are partly to blame for failing to think outside the box.

Mr. Malambo says the current situation should motivate both the private sector and the government and consider diversifying the economy to avoid having similar situations in the future.
