ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando
The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) has disclosed plans of convening an inter party dialogue meeting before next year’s general elections in order to ease the current political tension in the country.
ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando has told QFM News via telephone that ZCID is organizing an inter party dialogue training workshop which is expected to be held next month so that political parties can understand concepts of political dialogue.
Mr. Chilando says after that workshop, his organize will call for a pre-election democracy summit to discuss the current political situation in the country.
He says the summit will also look at coming up with ideas on how best next year’s elections can be held in a peaceful manner.
He adds that ZCID will also facilitate the actual planning for the elections and train election polling agents so that party members will be aware of what is expected of them.
Mr. Chilando says the activities will build on each other before calling for an inter-party dialogue meeting where all political parties are expected to settle their differences.
