The Professional Teachers Union (PROTUZ) has called on teachers throughout the country to avoid engaging themselves in examination malpractices during the forthcoming final examinations.

PROTUZ Secretary General Albert Muyembe says the union will not protect any teacher found wanting saying it is embarrassing that teachers engage themselves in such negative and retrogressive vices.

Mr. Muyembe has explained to QFM News in an interview that teachers should also work harder between now and the time of examinations to ensure that they finish the school syllabus so that pupils will not miss anything and help them prepare for the exams.

He says the teacher union appreciates the efforts and hard work being exhibited by teachers and that it is important that they avoid any form of exam malpractice so as not to tarnish the image of the teaching profession.

And Mr. Muyembe has called on parents and guardians to ensure that their children are adequately preparing for the exams and not rely on exam leakages saying it is a criminal offense.

Meanwhile, the PROTUZ Secretary General has hinted that the preparations for next Monday’s Teachers Day celebrations are progressing well.

He has since called on teachers to ensure that they come in numbers to celebrate some of their achievements in the teaching sector.
