The Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition Alliance –CSO-SUN-is elated that the African Union picked on nutrition and food security as the center theme during the just ended summit held in Lusaka.

The mid-year summit was held under theme:” Building Resilience in Nutrition on the African Continent”.

CSO-SUN Country Coordinator Matthews Mhuru tells QFM NEWS that the Alliance is very confident that if all the exchange discussions by different African Countries can be implemented, a lot would change in ensuring that there’s food security on the African continent.

Mr. Mhuru says the summit deliberations should spark conversation on how to deal with conflict within the region as this is a major cause of food insecurity, citing the Ukraine-Russia war which has stressed most African countries which relied on wheat and other food imports from the two warring countries.

He has urged technocrats to run with the agenda of what was discussed at the summit as this will help Government achieve what had been discussed.
