Zambia to launch biggest Nickel mine in Africa next month

President Hakainde Hichilema has announced that the country will next month be launching a Nickel mine which will be the biggest on the African continent.

Speaking at the private sector day in Lusaka, president Hichilema has challenged the private sector to invest more in developmental projects in the country that will result in more job creation and increased investment.

And Mr. Hichilema has warned statutory bodies in the country to stop making money by killing businesses by way of charges.

The head of state says he will soon be meeting with the heads of statutory bodies and quasi-government institutions to address issues that include luxury spending.

And international finance cooperation (IFC) vice president Sergio Pimento has proposed to engage with its investment teams to actively seek investment opportunities that unlock delivery reforms by the private public dialogue.

Mr. Pimenta says the PPD will play a critical role in eliminating barriers in the private sector investment and delivery economic growth that will make Zambia thrive.
