Save the Children East and Southern Africa regional advocacy and campaigns manager Malama Mwila has stressed the need for the voice of children to be heard if the African continent is to realize the agenda 2040 for an Africa that is fit for children.

Mr. Mwila says it is imperative for the African leaders to listen to what children across the continent are saying and implement the solutions children have adopted through the inaugural African children parliament and was submitted to the African union.

On Saturday over 100 children from across Africa adopted a committee report on climate change and resilience laid on the table of the first session of the African children’s parliament in Lusaka and was submitted to the African union (AU) summit.

The session further adopted a committee report on food and nutrition security, committee report on children protection, committee report on child participation and a committee report on social protection.

And Mr. Mwila says Save the Children International together with its alliance partners who include Childfund alliance, plan international, sos children’s villages international, terre des hommes international federation, and world vision international joined forces will track and monitor the implementation of the submission and constantly remind African leaders of their commitment to implement the reports.
