Stakeholders in the Education sector have applauded for actualizing the recruitment of over 30,000 teachers.
In separate interviews with Q-NEWS, National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) Executive Director Aaron Chansa has described the recruitment of 30,496 teachers as historical and unprecedented.
Mr Chansa says it has been a very anxious moment as the nation waited for the final list of successful applicants selected to be published.
He however, notes that the country still has a high number of unemployed teachers standing at over 70,000, a figure he says is still high.
Mr Chansa is therefore urging the Government to consider providing for the recruitment of a decent number of teachers especially in rural area in the 2023 national budget.
And the National Union of Public and Private Educators in Zambia (NUPPEZ) is delighted that the long awaited list of successful teachers has finally been published.
NUPPEZ Secretary General Nelson Mwale has commended the Government for the tremendous achievement that something that has never been achieved in a very long time.
Mr Mwale is urging the newly recruited teachers to go and serve were their services are required and desist from getting transfers after working for a months as the case has been in the past.
