The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has challenged members of parliament from the opposition patriotic front to openly demonstrate to the general public how they are being unfairly treated by the second deputy speaker of the national assembly Moses Moyo.

Recently Patriotic Front members of parliament walked out of parliament saying the second deputy speaker must begin to treat all members of parliament equally.

Speaking to Q news, FODEP president Mwenda Mumbuna says opposition patriotic front members of parliament are fully aware of the laid down rules to follow  in which they can air out their grievances of ill-treatment.

Mr. Mumbuna is of the view that there has been no recourse on the matter adding that so far the only noticeable thing  the opposition patriotic front members of parliaments have done is walking out of parliament.

Meanwhile governance, elections, advocacy, research services (gears) initiative executive director mcdonald chipenzi has advised the opposition patriotic front to seek judicial redress if the second deputy speaker is being unfair.

Mr. Chipenzi is urging the pf mps to have alternative avenues for lodging their complaints within parliament structures adding that if this fails then they can seek judicial redress so that the courts can guide the legislature on fair treatment of its members.

Mr. Chipenzi is of the view that the alleged unfair treatment of opposition pf mps by the speaker may be as a result of the slow adoption to the new working environment and orientation of their minds to the new speaker’s way of doing things.
