The Zambia Statistic Agency (ZAMSTATS) has disclosed that it will recruit 39,570 enumerators and 6,430 supervisors for the forthcoming national census of population and housing slated to run from 18th August to 14th September,2022.
ZAMSTATS Interim Statistician General Mulenga Musepa says adverts for the recruitment of enumerators, supervisors and Zonal coordinators have since been placed in various media platforms to run for 14.
Updating the Minister of Finance and National Planning and his ministry of information and media counterpart Chushi Kasanda on the progress made so far towards holding the census, Mr Musepa disclosed that 44 vehicles,30,000 samsung tablets,35,000 power banks,over 500 motorbikes and over 17,000 bicycles are currently available for the exercise.
And Dr Musokotwane has urged ZAMSTATS to recruit local people from within districts for the exercise.
The finance minister says the census will help government plan better.
He has since appealed to the public to be receptive to the enumerators once the exercise commences.
And his information and media counterpart Chushi Kasanda has appealed to the private media to play their part by educating the masses on the forthcoming census as well as informing youths on the recruitment of enumerators.
