The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has made an apparent u-turn on its earlier statement that it was investigating properties belonging to South African based Zambian business tycoon James Ndambo.

DEC Commissioner Mary Chirwa who was quoted yesterday in some sections of the media confirming the investigation of Mr Ndambo’s properties, has however told a media briefing today that the commission is not investigating the business tycoon.

Ms Chirwa says the vehicles seized by the commission suspected of being properties of Mr Ndambo are not registered in his name nor his company as alleged by some social media reports.

Meanwhile Ms Chirwa says the commission has rescheduled the questioning of former First Lady Esther Lungu in connection with ongoing investigations involving the 15 flats that were allegedly abandoned in State Lodge area.

She says the commission did not see it convenient to interview Mrs Lungu in view of the country hosting the AU summit.
