Transform IDA into dept under MoF – Kabwita

Economist Noel Kabwita has called for the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) to be transformed into a department under the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.

Mr. Kabwita feels the IDC is merely a cost to the country and is serving no purpose apart from duplicating the work of parastatal bodies.

He says there is nothing much that the IDC is doing with regards contributing to the development of the country, hence the need for government to consider making it a department under the ministry of finance.
