President Hakainde Hichilema has commended President Mattarella for the European Union’ increased support to Zambia and affirmed the need to enhance and strengthen trade and investment ties with the republic of Italy and the EU at large.
The head of state has reiterated the urgency of ramping up trade and investment engagement between the republic of Zambia and the republic of Italy across the sectors of energy, tourism, transport, health, agriculture, mining as well as water and sanitation to deliver inclusive, meaningful economic development and growth.
The president has further expressed government’s desire to repair, restore and revive the economy and underscored his personal resolve to the restoration of the rule of law among others.
President Hichilema has also hailed the EU’s global gateway investment package of 150 billion euros to Africa as key not just to Africa but also Zambia’s future infrastructure development agenda.
President Hichilema held an official lunch in honor of Italian president Sergio Mattarella who is on an official visit to zambia.
