Ministry of Finance to release medium term budget framework

The Ministry Of Finance And National Planning has disclosed that it will be releasing the medium term budget framework this Friday that will detail the policies upon which government will be consulting the general public in formulating the 2023 national budget. 

This came to light during a media engagement aimed at equipping the media with technical knowledge on Zambia’s economic reforms among others.

And Ministry Of Finance And National Planning Permanent Secretary Budget And Economic Affairs Mukuli Chikuba says the medium term budget framework will be based on the eighth national development plan (8ndp).

Mr Chikuba says the budget framework will be looking at broad areas that include on how to grow the economy in main areas of tourism, manufacturing, mining and agriculture among others.

Meanwhile, the permanent secretary has underscored the importance of communication in achieving and maintaining a stable economy to foster development to all parts of the country.

He says the workshop is not aimed at brainwashing but making the media understand better on matters relating to the economy.
