UPND fulfilling its campaign promises

Ruling United Party for National Development Namwala member of parliament Moono Mapani has boasted that the UPND has fulfilled some of its campaign promises in the first 10 months of its tenure of office since it won the august 12 elections last year.

Mr. Mapani has cited the recent distribution of the constituency development fund-CDF, and freedom of speech among others.

He tells Q news in an interview that from the time upnd came into power, it has ensured that the rule of law is at play and that no one is interfering in the operations of the judiciary, police and the national assembly among other governance institutions.

Mr. Mapani adds that governance institutions are also performing their duties without any interference from the executive and those in the ruling party.

And Mr. Mapani says the UPND has lived up to its campaign promises of upholding human rights as can be seen by people enjoying their freedom of association and expression which he said was not there before.
