The Human Rights Commission says it is still closely following up the case of a 14-year old girl of Shantumbu area who was gang raped by three men and later died earlier this year.

The girl of Shantumbu area in Kafue district was in February this year gang raped by three known men of the same area who in the process infected her with sexually transmitted infections. The girl was admitted to the hospital where she later passed on.

The suspects are reported to have been arrested but later released as there was not enough evidence for the mater to be taken to court.

But Human rights commission focal person for Child rights Kebby Malila says the commission will not relent with regards the case until the perpetrators are brought to book and justice prevails.

Mr. Malila tells Q-news that the commission has the mandate to investigate all cases concerning children’s rights and cases of alleged mal-administration of justice which it is suspecting in the case of the deceased 14 year old.
