Sino Hydro donates to Home of Happiness

98 orphans and vulnerable children from the Home of Happiness Orphanage in Lusaka’s Meanwood area have benefited from a donation of assorted items worth over K80, 000 by Sino Hydro Zambia Limited Kafue Gorge Lower.

The donated items bales of children mixed clothes, 40 by 25kg bags of mealie meal, 40 by 2 liters of cooking, four cases of 2kg sugar, four cases of sanitary wear and five by 500g of detergent powder.

And company human resource officer Lewis Ncube says the donation is meant to help alleviate the challenges that the orphans are going through at the facility.

Mr. Ncube has advised other corporate entities to emulate Sino Hydro Zambia says by ensuring that they support the most vulnerable communities in Zambia through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Mr. Ncube who handed over the donations on behalf of the company says Sino Hydro is committed to ensure that a lot of Zambians benefit not just from the company trough CSR initiatives.

The Chinese-owned Sino Hydro Corporation was tasked to develop the $2 billion dollar Kafue Gorge Lower Hydropower Station in 2015 with the goal of increasing electricity output for the country.

Speaking at the same event, home of happiness representative Bernadette Tembo says the management and children at the orphanage are very grateful for the gesture from Sino Hydro.

Mrs. Tembo has urged the company to continue with the acts of goodwill of uplifting the lives of other people especially the vulnerable in communities.
