Former Agriculture Minister Bob Sichinga has charged that the distribution of farming inputs for the 2022-2023 farming season will delay.

Mr Sichinga says this is because the government has delayed the announcement of the commencement of the tendering process for the supply and delivery of urea and d compound fertilizers for the 2022-2023 farming inputs.

But Mr Sichinga feels the purchase of inputs was supposed to be done much earlier In January-March because most fertilizer companies sell their inputs the previous year for this year.

He says to advertise in june is late because there is a process that must be followed to have it delivered.

Mr Sichinga says during his time, by September the inputs were sent into districts because most farmers prepare their fields in October.

The former agriculture minister says all the inputs take time to be delivered especially in inaccessible areas.
