Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Paul Kabuswe has disclosed that his ministry has concluded provincial consultations on the review of the Mines and Minerals Development Policy.
Mr. Kabuswe tells Q-News that the ministry is now in the process of consolidating the provincial submissions.
He says the ministry opted to take the consultative approach in order to come up with an all inclusive policy.
Mr Kabuswe says this is critical to the development of the mining sector which contributes a large proportion to the country’s gross domestic product-GDP.
The Minister is of the conviction that the mines and minerals development policy once reviewed will answer to the vision and aspirations of the new dawn government.
