Ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) Namwala Member of Parliament Moono Mapani says President Hakainde Hichilema’s foreign trips are necessary because the country’s international relations were bad under the previous regime.
Mr. Mapani has recalled how the previous PF government victimized the US Ambassador Daniel Foote who’s recalled they forced.
He tells QTV news in an interview that President Hakainde Hichilema is trying his best to normalize the country’s international relations.
Mr. Mapani claims President Hichilema has within the shortest period time in office managed to do things the former regime destroyed in ten years.
He says those criticizing the President’s international trips are worried because they will not have any campaign messages, because the President is doing fine in fullfiling his campaign promises.
Mr Mapani says people should not be concerned with the President’s trips but rather the results from such meetings.
President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to travel to Brussels Belgium where he is expected to address the European Union (EU) Parliament on Thursday, 23rd June, 2022.
He will then travel to Kigali, Rwanda to participate in the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled for 23rd to 25th June, 2022.
