Some Lusaka residents have described the ongoing 2022 Africa Public Service Day Road Show and Exhibition as a good initiative for promoting efficient public service delivery.

In Lusaka, the exhibition is taking place at the East Park Mall where various public service institutions are showcasing their services to members of the public.

Emmanuel Sakala, a student from the University of Zambia says the day has enlightened him about some of the operations of public institutions.

He has encouraged government to organize more of similar events because they are essential in efficient delivery of various public services under one roof.

And Bwalya Chilangwa, a mother of two says the services have been very efficient and effective compared conventional services which usually take longer to access.

Mrs. Chilangwa says she visited the stand for the Registration department under the Ministry of Home Affairs to obtain a birth certificate for her daughter which she managed to do in a few hours after several failed attempts at their offices.

Another resident Collins Siwale says despite the services being quicker compared to the ones offered at conventional offices, most of the public institutions still experience challenges in service delivery owing TO faulty equipment.

Mr. Siwale says most of the stands he visited experienced technological challenges which he says should be addressed if the Public Service Day is to achieve desired results.
