Government has through the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services disbursed over K457.4 million social cash transfer funds for May/June to the 116 districts across the country as at 17th June 2022.
In a statement obtained by Q-News, Minister of Information and Media and Chief Government Spokesperson Chuhi Kasanda says of the 116, 84 have confirmed receipt of the funds in their accounts.
Ms Kasanda notes with happiness that government has remained consistent in the disbursement of social cash transfer to beneficiaries across the country as provided for in the 2022 national budget.
She is appealing to the beneficiaries to get in touch with the District Welfare Assistance Committees in their respective districts to access their funds.
Ms Kasanda states that government is happy that the facility continues to impact positively on the lives of the people.
The Minister further states that it is government’s resolve that the disbursement of the Social Cash Transfer remains constant and consistent for the benefit of the eligible households.
