Police recover an AK 47 rifle in connection to a spate of murder cases in Mitete District

Police in Western province have apprehended five suspects and recovered an AK 47 rifle in connection to a spate of murder cases that have rocked Mitete District in the recent past.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says the suspects were apprehended after police conducted a raid in the district with the help of members of the public.

Mr Hamoonga says the suspects are detained in Police custody and investigations in the matter are still ongoing.

In another development, Police in Kaoma Western Province have arrested a 45 year old traditional healer  of Kapulanga compound in Mongu for the offence of unlawful confinement and obtaining goods by false pretences which he got by allegedly successfully naming witches in the area.
