About 24, 000 kwacha constituency development fund has been stolen from Kalumbila District Council.

Confirming the incident, Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says police in north-western province have since apprehended two suspects in connection to the theft.

Mr. Hamoonga says it is alleged that the suspects broke into the office of the accountant at Kalumbila Civic Centre between 13th June and 14th June, 2022 by means of unlocking the door and stole a safe that contained cash money amounting to k24, 000 meant for CDF.

He says the safe was later discovered damaged and empty a few meters away from the building and police have since opened an inquiry file while the two suspects are in police custody.

Meanwhile, police in Lusaka have apprehended two people for being in possession of suspected human skull and teeth.

The suspects have been identified as Voster Kapila aged 45 and Victor Nyambe aged 41 both of Meanwood Ndeke in Lusaka.

Confirming the incident Mr. Hamoonga says the suspects were apprehended today at around 02:40 hours in Meanwood Ndeke by police officers who earlier had received information that the suspects had a human skull and that it was being kept behind their house.

Mr. Hamoonga explains that it is alleged that the suspects picked the suspected human skull and teeth on 4th June, 2022 from Kalayanje area in Chisamba District where they went to fetch fire wood.

He says police have opened an inquiry file while the two suspects are in police custody.
