The Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) has maintained that 100, 000 metric tons of soya beans will be exported arising from the increased production as unanimously agreed during a stakeholders meeting.

This comes after the Crushers and Edible Oil Refiners Association-CEDORA issued a contradictory statement that thirty thousand metric tons of soya beans and not 100,000 metric tons will be allowed for export at a time to be determined by the Ministry of Agriculture.

But ZNFU media and public relations manager Calvin Kaleyi has told QTV news that CEDORA was part of the meeting and did not raise any concerns when it was agreed to export 100,000 tons, and therefore cannot have a different position now.

Mr Kaleyi says there has not been any follow up meetings to revise the export amounts hence the 100, 000 metric tons still stands as the amount to be exported.
