The Consumer Unity and Trust Society CUTS has urged the ministry of finance to communicate to citizens and the civil society organizations should they encounter any challenges in the commitment they made to complete the deal with the international monetary fund by June this year.

CUTS national coordinator Claudia Pollen says communication is important to keep stakeholders calm and for them to keep track of the developments in the process.

Dr. Pollen says the civil society movement remains optimistic about the deal pulling through as the month is still in its early days.

Finance minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane announced early this year that an agreement with the IMF would be reached by June 2022 which will pave the way for the debt restructuring process and economic sustainability.
